Lincolnshire project looking for focus group participants

The University of Lincoln is looking for older people to take part in a one-hour focus group to talk about the knowledge, skills, and qualities required to support physical activity engagement in older adults.

The University recently concluded a piece of work concerning physical activity and ageing, which sought to explore some of the challenges and opportunities older citizens face in Lincolnshire. One of the prominent findings of this work highlighted the importance of the knowledge, skills, and qualities of those who facilitate physical activity engagement, but was not able to explore what these were in-depth or who may be able to provide this facilitation as well as who might be well-placed to facilitate physical activity.

This study intends to examine what knowledge, skills, and qualities of those who facilitate physical activity engagement are most important to older Lincolnshire citizens and service providers, and who might be well-placed to provide this facilitation. The aim is to produce some recommendations on key areas of knowledge, skills, and qualities, which may be beneficial to citizens, a wide range of service providers, and public and care services.

If you are an older citizen (self-defined) living in Lincolnshire or provide services for people who live in Lincolnshire and would like to find out more about getting involved, please contact tgeorge@lincoln.ac.uk
